Canada Post Strike Halts Mail & Parcel Services Nationwide
What’s happening?
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), representing ~55,000 Canada Post employees, has initiated a nationwide strike in response to recent government-mandated postal reforms.
The government had recently approved measures to phase out most door-to-door mail delivery over the coming decade, shifting many households to community mailbox systems, reducing delivery speeds, and planning post office closures.
Impact on parcels
No mail or parcels are being processed or delivered in Canada while the strike is active. Canada a Post has also suspended acceptance of new items until the disruption ends.
Even after the strike ends, it may take extra time to restore full operations across the network.
Why it matters to you (and how it might affect your supply chain)
Shipments destined for or originating from Canada via national postal networks are at high risk of delay or non-delivery until the strike is resolved.
Backlogs will likely ripple through downstream operations (customs clearance, secondary handling, final-mile delivery) once mail services resume.
Some exporters and importers may turn to private couriers or alternative networks to bypass postal disruption, especially for critical time-sensitive shipments.
What RedSky is doing
We are closely monitoring the situation and will flag any Canadian-destined consignments for contingency handling.
Where possible, we’ll recommend switching to premium or courier alternatives for critical parcels to mitigate delay risk.
If you have stock in Canada or use local fulfillment options there, consider whether alternative regional courier or last-mile services may be more reliable in the interim.
We’ll keep you updated with alerts if we detect further disruptions or restoration of services.

Celebrating Our Client’s Big Win on Kickstarter
We’re thrilled to congratulate Heroic Replicas Ltd, one of our valued clients, on their smashing Kickstarter success for “SATISFACTORY – Big Box Collection + Factory Cart Block Set”. Working in partnership with Coffee Stain Studios, they aimed to raise USD 70,000 — and instead pulled in USD 629,975 from 2,576 backers, hitting over 900% of their goal.
The campaign offered a premium collector’s “Big Box” set and accompanying factory cart building block models based on the popular SATISFACTORY game.
RedSky Europe is honoured to support Heroic Replicas as they scale their operations. We are now gearing up to ensure that all backer rewards are delivered efficiently, reliably, and on schedule.
